Proud History Founded in 1990 by Karen L. Markey, the Children’s Chorus is a community organization for boys and girls grades K through 12.

The KSCC is seeking an Associate Director

The Kennett Symphony Children’s Chorus is seeking an associate director. The Chorus, affiliated with the Kennett Symphony Orchestra and in residence at West Chester University, is an auditioned group for boys and girls, grades K through 12. The Chorus strives to teach music literacy through quality, age appropriate repertoire. Children of all backgrounds have the opportunity to perform with professional orchestras and living composers. All age groups rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 pm. Rehearsals include music reading instruction, ear training, and vocal technique. Prospective candidates for the position would ideally be Kodaly trained or would be seeking training in Kodaly levels.


Select repertoire appropriate to age level and ability of singers. All music would be discussed and agreed upon by team of associate directors and Artistic Director

Prepare Tuesday evening rehearsals (90 minutes) and additional rehearsals as dictated by performance schedule. Rehearsals would address individual ensemble and large group repertoire

Ensure quality of ensemble sound, appearance, and delivery

Mentor West Chester University student intern assigned to the group
